Sympa Terms of Service
Terms of use for the Sympa service.
Last updated: December 2025
Welcome to Sympa. These Terms explain what Sympa is, what it is not, and the conditions under which you may use the platform. We aim to keep them clear so you understand what you are agreeing to.
Sympa is a service operated by Digitalis Education Solutions, Inc. (DBA "Sympa"), a Washington corporation. In these Terms, “Sympa” refers to the Sympa service and platform, including app.sympa.ai, www.sympa.ai, and any related features or services that link to these Terms. “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to Digitalis Education Solutions, Inc.
By using Sympa, you agree to these Terms.
1. Not Medical Advice
Sympa is not a medical service and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent disease. Nothing in Sympa—including reflections from Luma (our AI guide), data visualizations, insights, correlations, suggestions, genetic interpretations, or lab reflections—should be taken as medical advice.
Sympa is an exploratory tool to help you reflect on your own experiences and patterns. Sympa does not tell you what to do next; it helps you understand your own patterns so you can make your own decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before changing medications, supplements, diet, or care plans.
2. Use at Your Own Risk
Sympa offers possibilities to consider, not instructions to follow. Resource or priority suggestions from Sympa are informational only and should not be treated as directives or guarantees. You are responsible for how you interpret and apply any pattern or suggestion surfaced by the platform.
Because every person’s health situation is unique, Sympa cannot guarantee the accuracy, applicability, or usefulness of any insight or reflection.
3. User Responsibilities
When using Sympa, you agree to:
- Use the platform legally and respectfully
- Not attempt to attack, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service
- Not upload harmful code or content
- Not use Sympa to harass, exploit, or harm others
- Only submit data you have the right to provide
You may not use Sympa in any jurisdiction where such use is illegal, or in violation of U.S. export control laws (including restrictions related to embargoed regions or prohibited end users).
Sympa may suspend access if misuse is detected.
4. Age Requirements
You must be 18 years or older to use Sympa. A caregiver 18 or older may use Sympa on behalf of someone else. If you enter information about a minor or someone in your care, you represent that you have the legal authority to do so and are responsible for the accuracy of the data you submit. The person you are supporting does not create a Sympa account, and Sympa does not knowingly collect identifying information directly from minors.
5. Genetic and Lab Data
Any genome files, lab results, or biomarker data you upload to Sympa are stored separately from your identity using pseudonymization and are treated as self-submitted information, not medical records.
Sympa provides exploratory interpretations only. We do not offer clinical-grade analysis or diagnosis.
6. Privacy and Data Handling
Sympa respects your privacy and keeps your data secure. Personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy, as updated from time to time. We use pseudonymization (as described in the Privacy Policy) to separate your identity from your health-related content. Our Privacy Policy explains how data is collected, stored, and deleted.
By using Sympa, you agree to that policy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference and forms part of your agreement with Sympa.
7. AI Use
Sympa uses AI models (such as OpenAI) to generate reflections and insights.
- Only the Sympa health data you have input—plus minimal technical data required for secure operation—is processed.
- AI providers do not use your data to train their models.
- AI outputs may contain errors or omissions.
You are responsible for reviewing and interpreting all AI-generated information.
8. Decision Support and Resource Guidance
Sympa may offer tools that help you organize information, compare options, estimate effort, or prioritize possible next steps. These features are for reflection and planning only.
They do not provide medical, financial, or legal advice, and Sympa does not make decisions for you. You are solely responsible for interpreting this information and deciding what actions, if any, to take.
9. Service Availability
Sympa may change, update, or interrupt service at any time. Data handling and deletion follow the Privacy Policy—including pseudonymization and separate storage of identity and health-related data—even if service availability changes.
We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted uptime
- Error-free operation
- Preservation of your data beyond retention policies
We will do our best to maintain reliability and provide reasonable notice of major changes. Sympa uses privacy-preserving, cookie-free analytics as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Limitations of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Sympa is provided “as is.” We disclaim all implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Sympa is not guaranteed to meet any specific personal, medical, or decision-making needs.
- Digitalis Education Solutions, Inc. is not liable for any decisions you make using insights from the platform, including any decisions related to treatments, testing, spending, or prioritizing steps based on Sympa's reflective tools.
- We are not responsible for loss of data except as required by our retention and deletion commitments described in the Privacy Policy. We are also not responsible for service interruptions or third-party system failures.
If liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid, if any, in the previous 12 months.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to improve clarity or meet legal requirements. If we make significant changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
Continued use of Sympa means you accept the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA.
13. Assignment
You may not transfer or assign these Terms to anyone else. Digitalis may assign its rights and obligations under these Terms to another entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or corporate reorganization.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Sympa and replace any prior agreements or understandings relating to the Services.
These Terms bind and benefit the parties and their permitted successors and assigns.
15. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, the rest remains in effect.
16. No Waiver
If we do not enforce a part of these Terms, it does not waive our right to enforce it later.
